Overview
DMIHER (DU) is committed to provide an outstanding environment for excellence in Research and Development in all the disciplines. The gamut of DMIHER research activities makes it a unique academic environment that stimulates creativity and critical thinking, and provides impetus to recruiting, supporting, and developing highly-skilled motivated researchers.
Research has been an integral element for higher education at DMIHER (DU) since the time of its inception. The Directorate of Advanced learning at DMIHER (DU) provides a vigorous and highly visible research environment to its students with an objective to research culture and develop the habit of leadership within the university.
The University continues to branch out its research vision with new faculty members/researchers and implementing new policies designed to improve the research infrastructure and also through new academic & industry collaborations. The University with their researchers and other teams continues to regularly welcome external partners who support our vision by sharing ideas, pooling resources, and collaborating on findings promoting innovative research.
Through such an exposure, our Ph.D. scholars are nurtured and groomed under the supervision of expert guides, who get to assist and engage the candidates throughout the research process. Our research based Doctoral & Post-Doctoral Studies allows candidates to venture into new domains of education to discover the endless streams of knowledge.

- Serve as a platform for interdisciplinary and non-conventional research, collaborations and knowledge sharing.
- Develop international strategic partnerships.
- Establishment of Center of excellence and ensuring the integration of teaching and research.
General Information (PhD Cell)
Recognition of Places of Research:
Colleges having eligible Research supervisors, required infrastructure, and supportive administrative & research promotion facilities (a) Post – graduate departments of the colleges, research laboratories, of Government of India/ state government with at least 2 PhD qualified teachers/ scientists/ other academic staff in the department concerned along with required infrastructure, and supportive administrative & research promotion facilities shall be considered eligible for designating place of research. The colleges in addition should have necessary recognition by the institution under which they operate to offer MPhil/ PhD program. (b) Colleges from technology disciplines, exclusive research laboratories, with sophisticated equipment specified by institution concerned with adequate infrastructural facilities and having well equipped library facilities comprising of latest books, journals etc. may be recognized as place for doctoral research. Additionally, college may also access the facilities in neighboring Institutions/ colleges or those Institutions/ colleges/ R & D laboratories/ organizations which have required research facilities. The university shall evoke recognition through an onsite assessment report by an external assessor nominated /appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.Eligibility of Research Supervisor and Co-Supervisor:
(a) Any regular Professor of the constituent colleges of the University with at least five research publications in referred journals and any regular Associate / confirmed Assistant Professor of the constituent colleges of the University with a Ph. D. Degree and at least two research publications in referred Journals shall be recognized as Research Supervisor. Provided that in areas / disciplines where there is no or only a limited number of referred Journals, the University may relax the above condition for recognition of a person as Research Supervisor with reasons recorded in writing thereto.(b) A person employed at a recognized place of research having PG qualification, 4 years of Teaching/Research/ Clinical/ Industrial experience & and at least two research publications in referred Journals as the case may be recognized as a Co-Supervisor Provided further that, if the said person has PhD qualification in the concerned subject, the requirement for experience would be a minimum of two years with at least two research publications in referred Journals
